How we work

We take on ceiling insulation work across the areas listed below. Ceiling insulation across Victoria, from inner Melbourne out through the growth corridors, and into Geelong, Ballarat, Bendigo, the Macedon Ranges, Shepparton and the Latrobe Valley.

Victoria is not one housing market and a roof space is not one job. A Victorian weatherboard in Ballarat East with nothing above the plaster, a 1978 brick veneer in Glen Waverley with batts that settled thirty years ago, and a 2019 estate house in Tarneit with builder-grade material still in place are three different answers to the same question. The first needs a straightforward install and will feel transformed. The second needs the old material out before anything else happens. The third may well not qualify at all. Nothing about which is which can be established from the street, and very little of it can be established over the phone, which is why the first thing we do is get into the roof space and look.

The eligibility rules for this activity are set by the Essential Services Commission, not by us, and they are specific enough that plenty of houses people assume will qualify do not. Light fittings are the usual surprise. So is a rear extension that puts half a ceiling in a different position from the other half. We would rather find that out at the assessment and tell you on the day than schedule work that gets cancelled on the morning, or worse, gets done and then does not stand up. If the answer is no, you get told it is no, and it costs you nothing. That is a less satisfying conversation than the alternative and it is the reason the assessment exists.

How we work in writing

We do not publish a discount figure anywhere on this site, and that is deliberate. The value depends on the premises and on the accredited provider, so a number on a page would be a representation we cannot stand behind for your house. What we will do is tell you where your property sits once someone has looked at it. Everything we state about the program itself is quoted from the Essential Services Commission with a link and the date it was checked, because these rules change and a site that states them wrong is misleading someone who is about to spend money. Where we are not the right trade for something, such as electrical work on light fittings, we say so and refer it rather than taking it on.
