Services

What we do

4 services across 19 regions of Victoria. Each area page covers what the houses there are actually like and what is usually already in the roof space, not the same text with the suburb name swapped.

How we scope a job

Four services, all of them ceiling. We do not replace downlights, rewire, or do anything else that requires an electrical licence, and where a property needs that work before an insulation upgrade can proceed we tell you plainly and refer you to an electrician. Keeping the scope narrow is the point rather than a limitation. Ceiling insulation is the upgrade with the shortest path to a difference you can feel, and doing one thing properly across Victoria is a better proposition than doing six things adequately in one suburb. The four split along the lines the work actually divides on rather than along keyword lines. A bare ceiling and a ceiling with thirty-year-old material in it are different jobs with different timelines and different costs, which is why removal is its own service rather than a footnote on the install page. The assessment is separate because for a lot of people it is the whole transaction: they want to know where they stand and nothing more, and turning that into a sales visit would be the wrong answer. Rentals are separate because the buyer is different, the access is arranged rather than agreed, and the paperwork at the end has to satisfy somebody who was never on site.

What a quote looks like

The assessment costs nothing and carries no obligation, including when the answer is that your property does not qualify. What the work itself costs depends on the ceiling area, whether anything has to come out first, and how difficult the space is to get into and move around in. Those are things somebody has to see. Once they have been seen you get a written position covering what is up there now, what we measured, and what is involved, and that is the point at which a number means something. Two things move the number more than anything else and neither is visible from the driveway. The first is whether existing material has to come out, which roughly doubles the time on site and brings containment and disposal with it. The second is access, which is the single largest difference between two houses of the same size. A roof with standing room near the ridge and a clear hatch is a different job from a low-pitched space reached through a bedroom robe, even when the ceiling area is identical.

How the area pages work

Every service has its own page, and under it a page for each region where the housing stock genuinely supports the work. Those region pages cover what the houses there are actually like, what is usually already in the roof space, what tends to stop a property qualifying, and how hard the space is to work in. They are not the same page with a place name substituted. If your suburb does not have a page of its own, that is not an oversight and it does not mean we do not work there. It is named on its region page, and the fastest way to find out where you stand is to ask.

Not sure which one you need?

Tell us your suburb and roughly when the house was built, and we will tell you whether your ceiling is worth checking.
